December 2018

Dear Mr Porter and Members of the Port Elgin Community Band,

What a terrific concert on Dec. 6th. I just wanted to say thank you for choosing the SDSS Music Department as the recipient of your admission by donation door. I am not sure if you already know, but the amount raised at the concert totalled $982.20. That is not only incredible but extremely generous!

We will be putting the money towards the purchase of a second trombone with F attachment. Through your donations from last year we bought a new 4 valve euphonium and a tenor trombone with F attachment. These instruments are welcome additions to the drum kit and concert snare purchased previously. A new drum throne and some mouthpieces will also be added to our list. Indeed, Christmas has come early to our music program.

Thank you again. I am looking forward to working with you all in preparing for our spring concert.

Warmest regards, Kerrie Lynn Boys
